Located in the lush foothills of the Carpathian Mountains near Zărnești, the Libearty Bear Sanctuary is the largest brown bear sanctuary in the world. It is not a zoo, but a lush, 69-hectare forest dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of bears that have suffered from captivity and mistreatment. Founded by the Millions of Friends Association, the sanctuary provides a natural, peaceful life for over 100 bears rescued from tiny cages, circuses, or illegal private ownership. The bears live in massive, fenced-in forested enclosures with pools for bathing, trees for climbing, and plenty of space to roam—often for the first time in their lives.

Schloss Bran, oft auch „Draculas Schloss“ genannt, ist eine historische Festung in Rumänien, in der Nähe der Stadt Bran, an der Grenze zwischen Siebenbürgen und der Walachei. Die Architektur von Schloss Bran ist eine Mischung aus mittelalterlichem und gotischem Stil mit hohen Türmen, schmalen Treppen und labyrinthartigen Korridoren. Es hat 57 Räume, darunter einen Geheimgang, der zu seiner mysteriösen Aura beiträgt. Trotz seiner weit verbreiteten Verbindung mit Bram Stokers fiktivem Dracula gibt es keine Beweise dafür, dass Vlad der Pfähler, die historische Figur, die die Figur inspirierte, jemals dort gelebt hat.
