The Nallur Kandaswamy Temple, also known as Nallur Murugan Kovil, is one of the most famous Hindu temples in Sri Lanka. Located in Jaffna, the temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan, the Hindu god of war and victory. The original temple was believed to have been built in the 10th century and later developed by the Jaffna Kingdom. During the Portuguese colonial period in the 17th century, the temple was destroyed.
