Guests are welcomed at this workshop in Üsküdar with Turkish tea, coffee and cookies. After a short introduction to the centuries-old art of Ebru (Turkish paper marbling), your instructor demonstrates the basic techniques. Guests then create their own marbled patterns by carefully dropping and shaping special paints on the surface of water, using traditional tools. Once each guest is happy with their design, the pattern is transferred onto a cotton tote bag, creating a one-of-a-kind piece to take home. Each guest also makes marbled postcards. No experience is needed, and the workshop is suitable for all skill levels. The instruction is available in both English and Turkish.
