Koutoubia
From Jemaa el-Fna Square, we will admire the majestic Koutoubia Mosque, one of the greatest symbols of Marrakech, dating from the 12th century. As access to the mosque is reserved for Muslims, the explanation will be made from the esplanade and the vicinity of the square, from which you can enjoy a remarkable view of its iconic minaret.
I will introduce you to its fascinating history, its role as a landmark for travelers through the centuries, as well as its influence on the Almohad and Andalusian architecture of the region. Medersa Ben Youssef
At the Ben Youssef Madrasa, we will discover one of the oldest and most beautiful Quranic schools in Marrakech. This historic monument is an exceptional example of Islamic architecture, with its elegant curves, delicate mosaics, and finely carved woodwork. I will tell you the story of this madrasa, founded in the 14th century, which welcomed students from across North Africa to receive religious instruction. It is a place that embodies the splendor of Moroccan architecture and the importance of education in the city’s history.

Gegründet von Amri und Mizan
We will stop in an ancient Foundouk, an emblematic place of the medina. In the past, founduks welcomed merchants passing through, their goods and animals, playing a vital role in the Marrakech trade.
Organized around a central courtyard, these buildings were at once hostels, warehouses and places of exchange. Today, some have been restored and transformed into craft workshops, perpetuating the medina’s business spirit.
