During the tour we passed in front of the emblematic Alhóndiga de Granaditas, one of the most representative historical buildings of Guanajuato. Built at the end of the 18th century as a grain store, this imposing quarry property went down in history as a key scene of the beginning of Mexican Independence.

In the heart of the historic center is Plaza de la Paz, one of the most emblematic and photogenic areas of Guanajuato. Surrounded by vibrantly colored colonial houses, cafes and historic buildings, this square is known for its tranquil atmosphere and traditional architecture that reflects the mining grandeur of the city.

One of the most renowned and elegant buildings in Guanajuato is the Teatro Juárez, an architectural gem that combines neoclassical and oriental styles. Opened in 1903, this theater was for decades one of the most important cultural venues in the country and today it continues to host festivals, concerts and events of international stature.

At the top of San Miguel Hill stands the Monument to the Pipila, one of the most emblematic viewpoints of Guanajuato. This monumental sculpture, dedicated to Juan José de los Reyes Martínez — better known as “El Pipila” — pays tribute to the insurgent hero whose courage allowed the seizure of the Alhóndiga de Granaditas in 1810.

One of the most distinctive features of the city is its network of underground streets, formerly part of the Guanajuato River channel. These tunnels, now converted into circulation roads, offer a unique experience as they travel through stone passages, colonial arches and stretches that reveal the engineering that allowed the city to adapt to its mountainous geography.

The Union Garden is the social and cultural heart of Guanajuato. Surrounded by cafes, restaurants and iconic buildings such as the Juarez Theater and the church of San Diego, this picturesque garden stands out for its triangular shape and its characteristic set of pruned laurels in the shape of a natural vault.

The Diego Rivera House, now a museum, is the birthplace of one of the most influential Mexican artists of the 20th century. The Museo Iconográfico del Quixote is a unique cultural space in the world, dedicated entirely to the figure of Don Quixote de la Mancha and the universe created by Miguel de Cervantes.
