Your first food stop is at Un Bien. The Caribbean Roast Sandwich is often picked as Seattle's, Washington State's, and the country's best sandwich. It's roast pork and grilled onions makes for a memorable experience. Just a side of grilled onions is worth a visit. We eat the sandwich at a hidden beach, even most locals don't know exists. Here we can provide a intro to Seattle's waterways, Puget Sound, islands and Olympic Mountains.

Hiram M. Chittenden Locks
Everyone calls it the Ballard Locks. We walk the bikes through here while visiting the botanical gardens. We take time to see the Locks in action and observe adult migrating salmon. We frequently see harbor seals, herons, osprey, and kingfishers. We exit over a wooden pedestrian bridge over a ravine.

Fischerterminal
We stop at the Fishermen's Terminal where the Alaskan Fishing Fleet store their boats in the off-season. They let us ride the bikes down the docks and see first hand how at least a quarter of the total seafood harvest in the U.S. is associated with this terminal. The Deadliest Catch boats are also here in the off-season.

Your second food stops may happen in the Fremont neighborhood. Many choices here, we can stop at Tivoli for the famous Tomato Pie with Calabrian Chili Crisps; or check out why Teriyaki is a signature dish in Seattle and go to I Love Teriyaki. Kenji visited nearly every Teriyaki restaurant in Seattle and selected four outstanding places, I Love Teriyaki is on the list. There's also Frelard Tamales with the best Tamales in Seattle, order any tamale. There's also Outsider Barbeque, best brisket in Seattle.
