This is a flexible 6 to 8 hour day tour that combines one of the Westfjords’ most famous natural sights with an exciting off road adventure and the option to slow things down afterward.
We begin the day with a visit to Dynjandi, the region’s most iconic waterfall. A short and scenic walk leads past a series of smaller falls to the main cascade, where the sheer scale and power of the waterfall really stand out.

Dynjandi (Fjallfoss)
Dynjandi is the most iconic waterfall in the Westfjords and a true highlight of any visit to the region. Often called Fjallfoss, it cascades down a wide, stepped cliff face, growing more powerful as you approach the main fall at the top.
A short and easy walking path leads past several smaller waterfalls before reaching the base of Dynjandi itself, offering great photo opportunities along the way. Standing in front of the main waterfall, with its sheer size and constant roar, is an unforgettable experience and the perfect natural counterpart to an active adventure day.

This two hour ATV adventure in Þingeyri is a fun and varied way to explore the Westfjords landscape. After a short safety briefing, we head off-road, crossing a shallow river and riding through a forest before climbing into the hills above the village.
The route takes us to the top of Sandafell, where sweeping views open up over Dýrafjörður. There is time to stop, take photos, and enjoy the scenery before descending, making this an exciting and scenic complement to a visit to Dynjandi.
