Mt. Fuji 5th Station
After meeting your tour conductor, you will take a comfortable bus to the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station, the classic starting point of the Yoshida Route. Expect to arrive by late morning, when the air is crisp and views often stretch across the foothills below. Your team arranges a half‑buffet lunch at Fujikyu Unjokaku and builds in acclimatization time so your body can adjust comfortably before you begin walking higher. This is the moment to confirm boots and layers, top up water and snacks, and listen to a simple route briefing from your English‑speaking Fuji specialist guide. You’ll learn what to expect on the terrain, how your pace will be managed for safety and success, and how the group will communicate on the trail. With spirits high and gear set, you step onto Japan’s most storied mountain.

Taishi-kan
From the 5th Station you begin a gentle, well‑paced ascent led by your guide, who balances progress with frequent short breaks to keep everyone comfortable and alert. The trail transitions from wide cinder paths to more rugged steps and occasional rockier sections, always on a clearly marked route with mountain huts at intervals. As you gain height, vegetation thins and the views open, revealing the Fuji foothills and distant ridgelines. You will reach your 8th Station mountain hut—Taishikan or Horaikan, around 5:30-7 PM—where a hot dinner and a welcoming team await. You settle into a tidy shared room, charge devices where possible, and prepare your pack for the morning. A key advantage of this program: you do not hike at night. Instead, you rest properly so your body can recover and adjust, giving you the best chance at a strong summit day after dawn.
