Mohand Forest Range, Chillawali Rajaji National Park
Rajaji Tiger Reserve is home to an impressive diversity of wildlife and is particularly known for its thriving populations of Asian elephants and the majestic Bengal tiger. The forests and grasslands of the Chillawali Zone provide ideal habitats for many mammals, making wildlife sightings during safari both exciting and rewarding.
During a jungle safari in the Chillawali zone, visitors may encounter a variety of animals, including leopard, Asian elephant, Bengal tiger, spotted deer (chital), sambar deer, barking deer, and wild boar. Other elusive species such as the striped hyena, jungle cat, Himalayan black bear, sloth bear, and the mountain-dwelling goral also inhabit the reserve.
Primates are frequently seen moving through the forest canopy, especially Hanuman langur and rhesus macaque. Smaller mammals like the Indian hare and Indian porcupine are commonly found within the dense undergrowth.
