This beautiful arch, constructed in 1957 by our talented architect Rafael Israyelyan, is dedicated to our poet Egishe Charents, who deeply loved his homeland and wrote poems about Mount Ararat. As you pass through this arch, you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Ararat.

Garni-Tempel
Garni pagan temple, the sole temple on the territory of the former USSR, boasts Greco-Roman architectural style and is constructed from basalt. Built in the 1st century AD, it was destroyed in 1679 AD due to an earthquake and subsequently reconstructed during the Soviet era. Its design is reminiscent of the small Parthenon in Armenia.

Das Kloster Geghard
Geghard Monastery, a masterpiece of medieval Armenian church architecture, holds significant historical importance. It symbolizes the adoption of Christianity in Armenia, which was declared the state religion in 301 AD, making it the first country to do so. The name “Geghard” translates to “spear,” referring to the same spear that pierced Jesus. This monastery has stood the test of time for centuries, originally founded in the 4th century by Gregory the Illuminator, the person whose efforts led to the adoption of Christianity. Although it was destroyed by the 10th century, it was rebuilt in the 13th century. Geghard Monastery is partially carved into solid rock and boasts impressively detailed carvings and bas-reliefs that reflect the knowledge and skills of our ancestors. Today, it stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, preserving its historical and architectural significance for future generations.
