Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Maldonado early in the morning. Travel to the river port and board a motorized boat for a scenic journey along the Madre de Dios River toward La Cachuela Parrot Clay Lick. During the trip, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Amazon rainforest and, weather permitting, a beautiful sunrise.

Arrive at La Cachuela Parrot Clay Lick, where you may observe parrots, parakeets, and other bird species visiting the mineral-rich clay bank. Using binoculars and spotting scopes provided by your guide, learn about this fascinating natural behavior and the importance of clay licks in the Amazon ecosystem.

Continue to the beautiful Sandoval Lake, located within the Tambopata National Reserve. Explore the lake by canoe while your guide helps you spot wildlife such as giant river otters, black caimans, monkeys, turtles, and a variety of birds whenever conditions allow. Enjoy the peaceful scenery surrounded by pristine rainforest.
