Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress
Sigiriya Rock often called the “Lion Rock” is one of the most famous landmarks in Sri Lanka and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sigiriya is a massive rock fortress rising about 200 meters (660 ft) above the surrounding jungle. It was built in the 5th century AD by King Kashyapa. Halfway up the rock, there used to be a giant lion-shaped gateway. Today, only the huge lion paws remain, but visitors still pass through them on the way to the top.

Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show
Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show
Calling it a traditional Kandyan dance performance is something of a misnomer as the shows are very much aimed at audience entertainment and contain dance routines and costumes from across the country, including the famous ‘devil’ dances of the west coast (which are very hard to see in their home region).
