In the Mesoamerican Jade Museum you will see more than 70 pieces—original and replica—of the Mokaya, Olmec, Mayan and Aztec cultures. Your guide will explain the different types and colors of jade, from its natural form to how local artisans carve it with modern techniques. In addition, you will learn about the Mayan worldview: you will be able to discover what your “nahual” is, an animal guardian spirit according to your date of birth. This space is in a beautiful colonial house (El Jaulón) from the 16th century, making it a stop full of architectural beauty and cultural identity.
