The towers were cooling towers for the coal run power station supplying electricity to Johannesburg. Hector Pieterson memorial museum commemorates the lives of students who lost their lives, fighting for their rights in 1976, under police brutality. The museum also depicts events of 1976 students uprisings and the general struggle for democracy in South Africa. Entrance is Optional. Local vendors by the museum are selling curios,beaded work, artefacts and African clothing. We give you time to browse the flea market incase there is a need.

The vibriant Vilakazi street is the Popular attraction in Soweto for both locals and International guests. The houses of the two Nobel Prize winners former President Mandela and Archbishop Emeritus Tutu are situated on this street. Sakhumzi restaurant is also situated on this street close to Tutu's house. The restaurant is serving great South African cuisine buffet lunch in the form of dumplings, rice,mealie porridge (pap), Samp and sour Sorghum porridge. We visit the house of the World icon, late President Mandela situated in Vilakazi street. Entrance and guided tour included. Mandela lived in this house with his family before his life imprisonment.
