Sandboarding is the quintessential adventure activity outside the sea in La Paz. It takes place in the majestic Mogote Dunes, a peninsula of sand and desert landscapes located about 40 minutes from the city. El Mogote is a narrow peninsula separating La Paz Bay from the Pacific — and its dunes rise over 30 meters from the waterline. From the top you can see both the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific simultaneously. Then you point your board downhill. Sandboarding El Mogote works for all ages and fitness levels.
