If you choose our optional transportation, your friendly driver will pick you up from your Panama City lodging between 5:00–5:30 am for a scenic 2.5–3 hour drive through the jungle highlands to the Port of Carti. Guests driving their own vehicle should contact us for detailed directions — only 4x4 SUVs are allowed into Guna Yala; all others will be turned around at the border. Upon arrival, the port may appear busy and unorganized, but rest assured — the Guna community has everything under control. Your boat captain will guide you to your lancha for a 25–30 minute boat ride to your private island. Along the way, the boat may stop at other islands to pick up or drop off guests, giving you a glimpse of authentic Guna life.

Once you arrive at your beautiful oceanfront cabin, check in and start your island adventure. Spend the day swimming in the turquoise Caribbean waters, relaxing under swaying palms, or exploring your surroundings. Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch and dinner made with local, fresh ingredients, and end your day watching a stunning sunset from your beach cabin.
