Istiqlal Mosque is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and the sixth largest in the world by worshipper capacity. It's name, “Istiqlal,” means “Independence” in Arabic. Located in the heart of Jakarta, directly opposite the National Cathedral, the mosque stands as a symbol of peace and religious tolerance. Located on Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara, the Cathedral Church was built in 1891 in a neo-Gothic architectural style. The church features tall towers and high windows adorned with stained glass. To conclude the tour, visit Jakarta’s oldest port, which once witnessed the height of Dutch control over the spice trade in Indonesia. Today, the port is still in use for domestic shipping, with traditional Phinisi wooden boats neatly anchored and lined along the harbor.
