As soon as you board your boat for your Gulf of Papagayo experience, your captain will provide a detailed safety and tour briefing explaining the activities planned for the day. Whether you booked a fishing tour, snorkeling adventure, or sunset cruise, the captain will explain the itinerary, safety procedures, and what to expect during the experience. For fishing tours, we normally head directly to the fishing grounds, (20 minutes from the pick up point), prepare the bait, and begin the fishing experience. For snorkeling tours, we usually begin at Playa Jícaro, where guests often have the opportunity to swim near sea turtles and explore a nearby reef area. Guests may also visit beaches with local wildlife, including monkeys, the caves at Playa Huevos, the Palmares mangroves, and a second snorkeling location at Playa Nacascolito. Tour routes may change depending on weather, tides, and ocean conditions.
