The RNPS is one of the largest Natural Protected Areas of Peru, with an area of 2,080,000 hectares. It protects the entire basin of the Pacaya and Samiria Rivers and is created with the aim of conserving the flora and fauna resources, as well as the scenic beauty characteristic of the Humid tropical forest.
YANAYACU RIVER BASIN – PUCATE. It is the third most important part of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, flows into the Marañón River near the Santo Domingo village entrance checkpoint. Pacaya Samiria National Reserve
Then we will board our typical boat called “pamacari” to navigate the Marañón River upstream, during the trip we will observe different riverside hamlets until arriving at the Yana yacu / Pucate River, observing gray dolphins and pink buffettoes, then control at the Santo Domingo Caserio Watch Post. We will sail to the Buenos Aires community where we will stay at the Tourist Refuge “Bromelias Tour Pacaya Samiria” to spend the night in cabins with mosquito nets and shared bathroom. Night trip to the wildlife of the area. Lunch / Dinner.
