Corinth Canal A narrow canal that cuts through the Isthmus of Corinth, connecting the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea. Completed in 1893, it allows ships to avoid sailing around the Peloponnese. The canal is about 6.4 km long with steep cliffs nearly 90 m high, making it a popular quick stop for photos on Peloponnese tours.

- The Upper Castle (Fortress) Built by the Franks around 1249. Sits at the highest point of Mystras, offering panoramic views over the Sparta plain and the Taygetus Mountains. You’ll see defensive walls, towers, and ruins of military structures. - Palace of the Despots The largest building complex in Mystras. Served as the residence of the Byzantine rulers of the Despotate of the Morea. Built and expanded between the 13th–15th centuries. - Hagia Sophia Church Built in the 14th century by Emperor Manuel Kantakouzenos. Once served as the palace church. - Monastery of Pantanassa Founded in 1428. It is the only monastery in Mystras still inhabited today by nuns. - Monastery of Peribleptos - Church of Saint Demetrios (Metropolis) The main cathedral of Mystras. - Lower Town Streets and Houses Ruins of Byzantine homes, mansions, and streets. Gives insight into daily life in a medieval city.
