The Virgin of Montserrat known as the Moreneta, is one of the most emblematic figures in Catalonia and is located in the basilica of the Monastery of Montserrat. It is a 12th century Romanesque carving made of wood, depicting the Virgin Mary with the baby Jesus sitting on her lap.
Its characteristic dark color gives it the name Moreneta and makes it a unique and deeply revered image. He holds a sphere in his hand and holds a pineapple representation of life and eternity.
