On Fridays, travelers may also have the opportunity to experience the famous Nizwa livestock market, depending on the tour schedule.

Continue to the impressive Nizwa Fort, located directly beside the souq. Built in the 17th century, the fort is one of Oman’s most important historical landmarks and is famous for its massive circular tower and traditional defensive architecture. Explore the fort’s rooms, exhibits, traditional features, and panoramic views over Nizwa and the surrounding date plantations. Continue your journey into the spectacular Al Hajar Mountains towards Jebel Shams, one of Oman’s most dramatic mountain destinations. The road gradually climbs through rugged mountain scenery, offering beautiful views along the way. At Jebel Shams, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across the enormous canyon landscape, often referred to as the “Grand Canyon of Oman.” This is the perfect opportunity to take photographs, enjoy the fresh mountain air, and admire the spectacular cliffs and valleys. Jebel Shams rises to around 3,000 metres and is one of Oman’s most impressive mountain experiences.
