قلعة هيميجي
As a UNESCO World Heritage site and a National Treasure, Himeji Castle is often considered Japan’s most spectacular castle for its imposing size and its well-preserved, complex network of defensive walls and gates. Its nickname, "White Heron Castle," comes from its brilliant white plastered walls, which were designed not only for beauty but also as a fireproofing measure against early firearms. Walking through its steep corridors, you will discover the ingenious traps and architectural secrets used to defend the Shogun’s allies for centuries.

كوكو أون
This stunning Japanese garden consists of nine separate, walled gardens designed in various styles typical of the Edo Period. It was constructed on the very site where the Lord's western residence and samurai houses once stood. As you stroll through the "Garden of the Lord’s Heritage" or the "Garden of Bamboo," you can enjoy the serene sound of waterfalls, elegant koi ponds, and seasonal flora that frame the backdrop of Himeji Castle. It offers a peaceful contrast to the fortress-like atmosphere of the castle.

Shiromidai Park
Located to the southeast of the castle, Shiromidai Park is one of the "Ten Best Viewpoints" of Himeji Castle. The park features two massive, bronze-coated replicas of the "Shachihoko" (mythical tiger-headed carp) that adorn the castle’s roof. This spot offers an unobstructed, symmetrical view of the Main Keep, making it the premier location for commemorative photography. It’s a great place to capture the full scale of the castle before heading towards the mystical mountains.

Shoshazan Engyoji
Founded over 1,000 years ago, Engyoji is a mountain temple complex of the Tendai sect, often referred to as the "Mount Hiei of the West." Accessible by a scenic ropeway, the temple grounds are nestled in a thick forest of ancient cedars, offering a spiritual atmosphere far removed from the city. The massive wooden halls, such as the Daikodo (Main Hall) and Jikido, are so architecturally significant that they were used as filming locations for the movie The Last Samurai. It is a place where history, spirituality, and nature intertwine perfectly.
