Heaven Gate in Quản Bạ is more than just a scenic viewpoint—it’s the majestic entrance to the rocky highlands of Hà Giang, perched at about 1,500 m above sea level From the summit, you’re treated to expansive views of Tam Son Valley—rice terraces, tiny villages, and the symbolic Twin Mountains (a.k.a. Fairy Bosom) drifting in mist Local legend says these rounded peaks were the fairy mother’s breasts, left to nourish her lost child . Many park at a small café to sip highland coffee while “cloud hunting”—watching soft morning fog descend over the valley and hills . Heaven Gate is also a cultural gateway: nearby villages of H’Mông, Tày, and Dao people, and the bustling Quyết Tiến market on Sundays, add vibrant color and local life to the stunning landscape . Lung Tam village, nestled in the Quan Ba district of Ha Giang, is home to the Hmong ethnic community and renowned for its traditional handwoven linen craft. Set in a peaceful valley along the Mien River, Lung Tam is surrounded by green mountains and terraced fields, creating a picturesque backdrop for cultural exploration. The village has gained recognition for its centuries-old flax weaving techniques, where women skillfully grow, harvest, dye, and weave flax fibers into beautiful, natural linen products. These include scarves, clothes, and tapestries, often featuring intricate Hmong patterns and indigo dye. Visiting Lung Tam offers a rare opportunity to witness the entire linen-making process and interact with local artisans who preserve their heritage with pride. You will arrive Du Gia village around 16pm. Here you will stay with an ethnic minority family at their homestay. We will have dinner and breakfast with the family.
