AKA Monkey Temple, Swayambhunath Temple is a religious stupa atop a hill in Kathmandu Valley. As per records, it was consecrated around 464-505 CE and renovated many times throughout the history. It is a major pilgrimage site for both Hindu and Buddhist followers. For Buddhists, it is one of the most sacred sites. A circular walk around the stupa by whipping prayer wheels is a good experience. Visitors can embrace the spiritual and cultural importance of the place.
