We depart from Cape Town at 8am and go on the N1 before joining the R62 Wine Route. This route takes us to Oudtshoorn. In the afternoon we go on a guided tour of the Cango Caves. The Cango Caves, located near Oudtshoorn in South Africa, are a magnificent subterranean wonder, renowned for their vast halls and intricate limestone formations. These caves stretch deep into the Swartberg Mountains, offering visitors a journey through stunning stalactites, stalagmites, and ancient rock formations. The main chambers, some towering up to 20 meters high, are illuminated to highlight their natural beauty, creating a surreal, almost otherworldly atmosphere.
