Surf with Santa Monica’s most established surf school. For over 20 years, Aqua Surf School has been teaching visitors and locals how to surf safely on the iconic Santa Monica coastline. This private lesson gives you one-on-one coaching tailored to your experience level, helping most beginners stand up and ride waves during their first session.
With extra time in the water, your instructor can focus on technique, wave timing, and building confidence while you enjoy the classic California surf experience. All equipment is included, so you can simply show up, learn to surf, and enjoy the waves.

Learn to surf on beautiful Santa Monica Beach during a 2-hour private surf lesson with one of our experienced instructors. Your lesson begins on the sand with an introduction to ocean safety, surf etiquette, wave selection, and the fundamentals of paddling and standing up on the board.
After the beach instruction, you’ll head into the water for extended hands-on coaching. Your instructor will help you position for waves, improve your pop-up technique, and give real-time feedback to help you catch more waves and build confidence.
With extra time in the water, the lesson allows beginners to practice more rides and gives intermediate surfers the chance to refine their technique. All equipment...
