Day 1: Arrival, Cultural Discovery & Traditional Healing
Arrive on Ukerewe Island by ferry from Mwanza or Kisorya and transfer to your hotel for check-in and lunch.
In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour of Nansio town. Explore local neighborhoods, meet residents, and experience everyday island life. Continue with a lakeside walk along Lake Victoria, enjoying scenic views and learning about the lake’s importance to the community.
Later, visit a traditional healer and learn about herbal medicine, plant-based remedies, and cultural healing practices still used on the island.
